Originally known as the Southern Musical Exchange Company, under Melvyn's newfound ownership in 1971, the shop underwent a transformation and evolved into Southern Music (Exchange Co.) This transition under Melvyn's leadership marked the beginning of Southern Music's legacy. Five locations, five decades, and three brands later, Southern Music has been resurged.
